2017 Toyota Models at Keyes Toyota

2017 model recap

The 2018 model year is slowly getting underway at Keyes Toyota, which makes this the perfect time to take a look back at all of the great Toyota models of 2017. Below are three of our favorites.

2017 Toyota RAV4

Okay, it’s technically a crossover and not an SUV. And it’s not just any crossover, it’s the one that invented the segment many years ago. It’s the incomparable 2017 Toyota RAV4.

It boasts an engine powerful enough for a 1,500 pound tow capacity, 73 cubic feet of cargo capacity (maximum), and plenty of passenger space. In short, you get all the things you’d buy an SUV for, minus the bulk of an SUV and with the addition of the kind of refined ride you’d expect from a smaller vehicle.

With gas and hybrid powertrains, available AWD, a five-star NHTSA safety rating, an IIHS Top Safety Pick Plus, STAR Safety System, and Toyota Safety Sense, the Toyota RAV4 demands respect.

2017 Toyota Prius Prime

Don’t call it a comeback. The 2017 Toyota Prius Prime is the company’s second plug-in hybrid, but it’s a vast improvement over the old Toyota Prius PHV.

This new plug-in hybrid sports a lower, longer, and wider body with a reduced drag coefficient and a nicer look. Intensive use of aluminum keeps weight down, and the lower weight combined with a vastly improved battery pack gives a 22-mile all-electric range. For those of us whose driving is mostly in town or around Los Angeles, you could go weeks at a time without visiting a gas station.

2017 Toyota Corolla

The 2017 Toyota Corolla turns fifty years old this year. While the engine choices carry over from 2016, there’s a mildly refreshed exterior, a limited 50th Anniversary Special Edition, and a backup camera standard on all trims.

With 97.1 cubic feet of passenger space and 13 cubic feet of cargo space, this doesn’t feel like a compact car. The Toyota Entune infotainment system is upgraded, and gets even more functionality on upper trims. Toyota STAR safety system is standard, with TSS-P active safety features optional.
