2018 Toyota Avalon Review by Keyes Toyota

2018-avalon

The Toyota Avalon received a mid-generation redesign in 2016, and there’ve been minimal changes in the years since. But Los Angeles Toyota shoppers are still treated to a great full-size sedan at Keyes Toyota either way.

2018 Toyota Avalon Details

The 2018 Toyota Avalon comes with the same front-wheel drive and powertrain across each of its trim levels (XLE, XLE Plus, XLE Premium, Touring, and Limited).

Too many full-sized sedans are plagued by indecisive steering and dull suspension. That isn’t the case here. The Toyota Avalon offers refinement, to be sure, but the steering is responsive, the suspension is lively, and the brakes offer just the right amount of bite.

2018 Toyota Avalon Safety and Special Features As we write this, the IIHS and NHTSA have yet to test the Toyota Avalon for this model year. Last year’s models earned top marks from both agencies, and we would expect good things for this year’s model as well.

We’re comfortable saying that for a few reasons. Engineering and design play their part, to be sure. But there’s also the Toyota STAR safety system, and what’s more, Toyota Safety Sense active safety features were added as standard equipment last year (most of the rest of the new Toyota lineup gets them this year).

Our Pick

Of your five options, we suggest the Limited trim level. One reason for this is the Toyota Entune infotainment system, which adds features on the upper trims that lower trims miss, or that have to be optioned in. The Limited trim has fewer “options” because so much comes as standard equipment. See your Van Nuys Toyota dealer for more features and details.

Buying a 2018 Toyota Avalon

The 2018 Toyota Avalon isn’t marketed as a luxury sedan because Toyota isn’t particularly interested in marketing itself as a luxury brand. However, this new Toyota car ticks all the right boxes without having a breathtaking price tag to match. It’ll never sell in the same numbers as the Toyota RAV4, but anyone looking for a value that doesn’t skimp on good taste should start here. Visit Keyes Toyota at 5855 Van Nuys Blvd in Van Nuys, CA today to take a test drive.
