2026 Toyota RAV4 vs Honda CR-V Hybrid

The 2026 Toyota RAV4 is fully redesigned, and its upgrades are plentiful. The lineup is now 100 percent hybrid, with an exceptional combination of power and fuel efficiency. It also boasts a new infotainment platform and offers one of the best warranties in the auto industry. As Keyes Toyota details below, these assets position it well ahead of rivals such as the Honda CR-V Hybrid.

Powertrain

All seven 2026 Toyota RAV4 trims are hybrid-exclusive under the hood. With front-wheel drive, this new Toyota SUV outputs 226 horsepower, which is upped to 236 horsepower in its all-wheel drive configurations. The Honda CR-V Hybrid, meanwhile, maxes out at 204 horsepower. That gives the Toyota RAV4 a significant advantage in towing capacity as well, with a maximum rating of 3,500 lbs when properly equipped against the 1,000-lb max of the Honda model.

The 2026 Toyota RAV4 also comes out ahead in fuel economy. Its EPA-estimated mpg is 40 mpg highway and 47 mpg city*—a notable step up above estimates for the Honda CR-V Hybrid.

Infotainment

The new infotainment platform for the 2026 Toyota RAV4 gives it a huge advantage over the competition. All trims integrate a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a 10.5-inch touchscreen. The top-line XSE and Limited trims upgrade to a 12.9-inch touchscreen. The Honda CR-V Hybrid has a 10.2-inch instrument cluster, but it isn’t standard on every trim, and a 9-inch touchscreen is the only available screen size. Whereas built-in navigation only comes standard on one Honda CR-V Hybrid trim, every 2026 Toyota RAV4 integrates a cloud-based navigation system.
